Setting the cut-out pressure above the pump's capacity can cause the pump to run continuously. Check / change pressure switch pressure settings to correct adjustment for cut-in and cut-out. Normally we see about 20 psi between cut-in and cut-out pressures. Lower the pump cut-out pressure setting. If the pump stops, this was the problem. See:

Check pressure in the tank with your pressure gauge. Release or add air as necessary to make the pressure 2 psi below the pressure switch pump cut-in setting.
